Verification rules

Last updated 5 August 2026

A verification badge on hudr.net is a small mark next to your name. This page explains exactly how you get one, what it costs, how long it lasts, when we take it away, and — just as important — what it does not prove.

The short version

  • Two ways to get it — buy it out of your hudr.net wallet balance, or send us links to profiles you already hold elsewhere and let a person on our team review them.
  • No document is ever asked for — no passport, no driving licence, no ID check of any kind, and no minimum account age.
  • A bought badge runs out — 365 days, then it can be removed. A badge granted by review has no expiry date.
  • It is not proof of identity — it does not mean we checked who you are, and it does not mean we vouch for the account.

What the badge means

There is one personal badge on hudr.net. It appears next to your name wherever your name appears: your profile, the feed, comments, search, messages and job posts. Logged-out visitors see it too.

There are two ways to get it, and they are not the same thing:

  • You paid for it. You bought the badge from your wallet balance. Nobody checked any documents.
  • Our team reviewed you. You sent us links to profiles you already hold elsewhere and a person on our team approved them.

The badge is not an identity check.

We do not ask for a passport, a driving licence or any government document, and we have no way to confirm that the person behind an account is who they say they are. A badge means one of the two things above happened — nothing more.

In plain English: do not treat it as proof of identity, of professional qualifications, of employment, or of anyone's trustworthiness. It does not mean we endorse the account or vouch for what it posts.

The badge also carries no priority in moderation. A verified account gets reported, reviewed, restricted and suspended on exactly the same rules as an unverified one.

How to get a badge

Everything happens in one place: open Settings → Get verified. That screen shows what is available to you right now, what it costs, your current wallet balance, and — if you are already verified — the date your badge runs to.

Route Cost How fast Expires?
Buy it 29 USD, taken from your wallet balance Immediately Yes — after 365 days
Send links for review Free When a person on our team gets to it No

We decide which of the two routes is open, and we can close either one, or both, at any time. Both routes are open today. The Get verified screen is always the accurate answer, because it reads the same setting this page does.

Paying for a badge

The paid badge costs 29 USD and is paid from your hudr.net wallet balance. There is no card form in the verification screen: you top your wallet up first (Wallet → deposit), then press the button on the Get verified screen. If your balance is short, nothing is charged and nothing changes.

What happens when you press it:

  1. 29 USD leaves your wallet balance straight away and is recorded as a transaction you can see in your wallet history.
  2. Your badge turns on immediately — no queue, no review.
  3. Your account is given an expiry date 365 days out.

Those steps are one operation. In plain English: if the payment fails you do not get a badge, and if the badge cannot be granted you do not lose the money.

Refunds.

Buying a badge is not reversible from your side, and the site has no self-serve refund button. If you were charged and did not get a badge, or you were charged twice, write to us on the contact page and we will sort it out.

Verification by review

If you already hold an established, public presence somewhere else, you can ask for the badge for free instead of buying it. On the Get verified screen you submit up to 3 links to your profiles on other platforms, plus an optional note to our review team.

The rules of that queue:

  • Links must open. Each one must be a full web address pointing at a profile or page anyone can view — we cannot review what we cannot open.
  • One request at a time. Send another while one is still open and it is refused.
  • Already verified? The form is closed to you — there is nothing left to grant.
  • A person decides. Someone on our team reads the request and either approves or rejects it. There is no automated decision.
  • A rejection is not a strike. It can carry a short note from the reviewer, it does not count against your account, and you can send a new request afterwards.

We approve a request when the links, taken together, show that the same person or organisation is behind this account and is already publicly recognisable elsewhere. We reject requests built on links we cannot open, links to accounts that are clearly not yours, or links that show nothing beyond the existence of another empty profile.

Check the outcome yourself. Come back to Settings → Get verified: it shows “under review” while the request is open, and your badge once it is approved. Do not wait on an email — we do not currently send one when a request is decided.

How long a badge lasts

  • Bought badge — 365 days. The date it runs to is shown on the Get verified screen.
  • Renewing early costs you nothing. Buy again before that date and the new 365 days are added to the end of the current period. Buy after it has run out and the clock starts again from that day.
  • Reviewed badge — no expiry date. It stays until it is removed for one of the reasons in the next section.

When a paid badge reaches its date, the badge is not switched off by the site at that exact moment — removing it is a step our team takes. Treat the date as the honest end of what you paid for: past it, the badge can be removed at any time without further warning, and you should renew if you want to keep it.

Losing your badge

We can remove a badge from any account at any time. In practice we remove one when:

  • a paid badge has passed its expiry date and was not renewed;
  • the account was approved on links that turn out not to belong to the account holder, or that were edited or taken down after approval;
  • the account changes hands, is sold, or starts presenting itself as a different person or organisation than the one that was reviewed;
  • the account is used to impersonate someone, or its name or username claims an affiliation it does not have;
  • the account is suspended or restricted for breaking our Terms of Use.

Removing a badge is a separate decision from suspending an account: we can take the badge and leave the account alone, or the other way round. Removing a badge does not refund a payment, and a badge removed for a rule you broke is not returned by buying another one.

Company verification

The “Verified company” badge is a different mark and a different check. It says an email address on that company's own domain was confirmed — nothing about the person holding it.

  • How it works — you enter a company email address, we send a six-digit code to it, and entering that code back into hudr.net earns the badge.
  • The code lasts 30 minutes — and asking for a new one cancels the old one.
  • Free, consumer and disposable mail providers are rejected — the whole point is that the domain proves something.
  • Company pages can go further — submit an official email address, a registration number and a link to a supporting document, and it goes to our team as a separate review queue.

A company badge and a personal badge are independent. Having one does not give you the other, and losing one does not remove the other.

Identity checks on suspended accounts

There is one more thing on hudr.net called verification, and it is easy to confuse with the badge, so: if your account is suspended and we have told you we need to know who you are, the suspended page gives you a form asking for your name, a short statement and up to 3 links to proof. That form is about getting your account back.

  • It is not the badge. It does not grant one, and passing it does not verify you.
  • It cannot un-suspend you by itself. It puts your case in front of a moderator; only our team can restore the account.
  • Proof is links, not files. You cannot upload anything there. If a link is not possible, use the contact page.
  • Sending it once is enough. You can correct and re-send it, but repeated sends in a short time are rate-limited. We can see it.

What a badge unlocks

Very little, deliberately. A badge does not buy reach, does not rank you higher in the feed, and does not change how your posts are moderated.

The one real effect is on creator monetization: some earning streams require a verified account, and we may require verification before an account can join the monetization programme at all. The Monetize screen in your settings states which requirements apply to you and whether you currently meet them.

The rules we keep for ourselves

  • We can change the offer. Either route to a badge can be switched on or off, and the price and the length of a paid badge can change, at any time. A change does not alter a badge you already hold.
  • We can say no. We can refuse a review request without giving a detailed reason, and refuse to sell a badge to an account that is suspended or under moderation.
  • Badges belong to the account, not to you. They are not transferable and cannot be sold on.
  • We can grant one ourselves where it is obviously warranted, without you asking.

If any of this changes, we will change this page and move the date at the top. Continuing to use hudr.net after that means the updated rules apply to you.

Questions and appeals

Write to us if:

  • your request was rejected and you think that was wrong;
  • your badge disappeared and you do not know why;
  • you were charged and did not get a badge.

Reach us through the contact page, or by email at [email protected] . Tell us your username and what you expected to happen — that is usually enough for us to find the record and answer properly.
