Getting started

How do I create an account?

Sign up with an email address and a password, or continue with Google.

If you use email we send a 6-digit code to that address — enter it to confirm. Your account is not created until the code is confirmed.

What happens after I confirm?

A short setup: pick a @username, add your name, then your country and city.

You can change all of them later in Settings. Nothing you choose here is permanent.

What are the username rules?
  • Length — 4 to 32 characters.
  • Characters — letters, numbers, underscores and dots only.
  • Unused — nobody else can already have it.
  • Not reserved — a list of names is held back (things like admin, support and hudr.net's own page names), so a few otherwise-valid handles will be refused.
What is on hudr.net?

A feed of posts, reels (short videos), stories that expire after 24 hours, communities, a job board, a marketplace, direct messages, profile reviews, a wallet, and advertising.

Not all of it is switched on for every account — verification, monetization and reviews each have their own gate, explained below.

Your account

How do I change my username, name, email or password?
  • Settings → Your account — username, name, headline and the rest of your public profile.
  • Settings → Account credentials — email, phone and password.

Changing your email or phone sends a 6-digit code to the new address or number, and the change only lands once you enter it.

Someone else is signed in to my account. What do I do?

Change your password in Settings → Account credentials and switch on Sign out other devices in the same dialog.

That ends every other session immediately — whoever it was is signed out on the spot.

Where do I see my own stats?

Settings → Insights. It is visible only to you.

Settings → Your activity is the separate history of your own reactions and comments.

Following and connecting

Following or connecting — what is the difference?
  • Following is one-way. You follow someone, their public posts show up in your feed, and they do not have to do anything back.
  • Connecting is mutual. You send a connection request, and it only exists once the other person accepts.

Connections are what hudr.net counts as a professional relationship: they give you a 1st-degree link, they power "you both know" suggestions, and — the practical one — an accepted connection is the only thing that lifts the message-request tier described below. Following someone does not.

Can I stop people following me without asking?

Yes. Settings → Account privacy settings → Followers → Only approved.

New follows then arrive as requests you accept or decline. People who already follow you stay.

How do I undo a connection?

Open Connections or their profile and remove it. The same action withdraws a request you sent that has not been answered yet.

Nobody is notified either way.

Messages and message requests

What is a message request?

The first message from someone you are not connected to does not land in your inbox. It goes to Requests: out of your chat list, out of your unread count, and out of the messenger badge.

You get one notification that a request arrived, and nothing after that.

How do I accept one?

Reply to it. That is the whole mechanism — there is no button to press.

Once you reply, the conversation moves into your normal inbox and behaves like any other. Accepting a connection request from the same person does the same thing.

Does the sender know I ignored them?

No. A pending request looks identical to an accepted one from the sender's side.

There is no read receipt, no error and no "not accepted" state that leaks back to them.

Can I stop message requests entirely?

Settings → Account privacy settings → Direct message — set it to Followers only or Nobody.

That check runs before the request tier, so anyone it excludes cannot start a conversation at all. Blocking someone also ends every direction of contact between you.

Posts, stories and reels

How long do stories last?

24 hours from the moment you post, then they stop being shown. You can see who viewed each one while it is live.

Who may reply is set in Settings → Account privacy settings → Story replies.

Why is my reel not in the Reels feed yet?

Two possible reasons, and they stack:

  • Moderation. New reels are checked before they can reach the Reels feed. Until then the reel is live on your profile, goes to the people who follow you and is shareable by link — just not in the Reels feed.
  • The test audience. Once approved, a reel is shown to a small group first. If people actually watch it through, it gets pushed to more people; if they do not, it stays limited.

Ordinary photo and text posts go through a lighter version of the same thing whenever post review is switched on: the post reaches your followers and its own link straight away, and the main feed, Explore and search once it is approved. Editing a post sends it back through the check.

Can I delete a post?

Yes, from the post's menu. It disappears from the feed, your profile, search and everywhere else straight away.

What is an embed?

Any public post has an embed code that puts it on another website. Two things worth knowing:

  • An embedded post is public by definition.
  • The embed loads Google Fonts, so Google sees the IP address of everyone who views the page it sits on.

The reviews widget further down is the one embed that loads nothing external.

Communities

What is a community?

A named space with its own posts, members and category. You can join as many as you like and create up to 10.

Community posts can appear in the home feed of people who joined, tagged so you can see where they came from.

Who can post in one?

The people its admins allow. Admins can also switch comments off entirely, share a private invite link, and set the category the community is listed under.

Someone keeps adding me to communities.

Settings → Account privacy settings → Group invites — set it to Followers only or Nobody.

Jobs and marketplace

How do jobs work?

Browse or search Jobs, then apply — an application can carry a resume file.

You can track everything you have applied to, and subscribe to alerts for a search so new matches reach you. If you posted the job, you see your applicants and can move each one through the stages.

What is the marketplace?

A browsable catalogue of listings with categories and bookmarks.

Nothing is bought or paid for through hudr.net — there is no checkout. Treat a listing as a way to find a seller, and agree terms with them directly.

Profile reviews

What are profile reviews?

A public, star-rated review written about you by other members, shown on your profile with an overall rating.

They are off unless you turn them on. A profile that never enabled reviews has no reviews tab, no rating and no way for anyone to leave one.

How do I get reviews?

Open Settings → Reviews, switch them on, then choose who is allowed to review you — anyone, or your connections only. Share your profile link and people can leave one from the reviews tab.

To write a review, a member has to be signed in, have a confirmed email address, and have had their account for at least 14 days. One review per person per profile.

Can I reply to a review?

Yes — one public reply per review, shown underneath it. Links and email addresses are not allowed in replies.

Can I delete a bad review?

No, and this is deliberate. Only the person who wrote a review can withdraw it, or the hudr.net review team can remove it.

If the subject of a review could delete it, the rating on every profile would be worth nothing.

Then what can I do about an unfair review?

Report it, once. When the person a review is about reports it, the review is hidden from the public immediately and drops out of the profile's rating.

It stays hidden until the hudr.net review team decides, or until 72 hours have passed — whichever comes first. If the team finds nothing wrong, it comes back.

You get one of these per review. A report from anyone else does not hide anything; it queues for the team while the review stays up.

Can the reviewer change their review later?

Up to 5 times, no more than once every 24 hours, and only within a year of writing it. After that the review is locked as it stands.

You are notified if the star rating moves.

Can I stop getting new reviews without deleting the old ones?

Yes. Closing reviews in Settings → Reviews stops new ones arriving; the reviews you already have stay visible and keep counting towards your rating.

Can I put my reviews on my own website?

Yes. Open Reviews (your review manager), choose Embed, pick a light or dark card and copy the code.

The widget deliberately loads no fonts, scripts or images from anywhere else, so putting it on your site does not hand a third party your visitors' IP addresses.

Will people see who wrote a review?

A reviewer's name is shown on the card. Their @username is not published by default.

The controls for what you show on the reviews you write are on the same Settings → Reviews page.

Verification

How do I get the badge?

Go to Settings → Get verified. There are two routes, and hudr.net decides which of them are open at any time — the page shows you what is actually available:

  • Buy it from your wallet. The price and how long the badge lasts are shown before you confirm. The amount comes off your wallet balance and the badge is active immediately.
  • Submit social profile links. Send up to the number of URLs the page allows, plus an optional note, and the hudr.net team reviews it. One request at a time.
Do I need to send an ID document?

No. hudr.net does not ask for a government ID, a selfie or proof of address for the badge, and there is no minimum account age for it.

Does the badge expire?

A purchased badge does — it runs for a fixed number of days and the expiry date is shown on the page.

Buying again while it is still valid extends it rather than restarting it.

What does the badge get me?

The badge next to your name, and access to the parts of monetization that require a verified account.

It is an identity signal, not a rank — it does not boost your reach.

Earning on hudr.net

How do I start earning?

Settings → Monetize. You need to pass the eligibility gate — a follower minimum, and on some setups a verified account.

Both of those are set by hudr.net, so the live numbers are on that page rather than in this document. If you are not there yet, switch on Notify me when eligible and we will email you when you qualify.

Does earning start automatically once I qualify?

No. You apply, and a person at hudr.net reviews the application. Nothing pays out while it is pending.

If you are rejected you can apply again after 3 days.

What are the earning streams?
  • Sponsored ads — a share of the revenue from ads shown on your content.
  • Brand sponsorships — matching with brands that fit what you post.
  • Paid community access — a fee for joining your community, which hudr.net takes a percentage of. The stream and its rate exist, but there is no member-facing way to pay a community fee yet, so nothing is charged and nothing accrues on it today. Joining any community is currently free.
  • Pay per 1,000 views — the rate depends on your audience's country and the content category.
  • Pay per 100 active followers — a monthly amount, which on some setups additionally requires verification and a manual review.

Each stream is your own opt-in, and hudr.net can switch any of them off platform-wide. A stream only earns when it is on in both places and you are approved.

When do I get paid?

The payout run happens on the 1st of every month and covers the previous month.

If your pending balance has reached the minimum, it is moved into your hudr.net wallet. If it has not, it stays pending and rolls into the next run — nothing is lost.

How do I get money out of the wallet?

Request a cashout from your wallet. Cashout requests are reviewed by hudr.net before they are paid, and a minimum amount and a cashout fee apply.

Which payout methods you can use depends on your country and is shown when you make the request.

Where do I track my earnings?

Settings → Monetize shows your pending balance, lifetime earnings, a daily chart you can filter by stream and by 7 / 30 / 90 / 365 days, and which stream is earning you the most.

Your wallet and advertising

What is the wallet for?

It holds your hudr.net balance.

  • Money in — deposits and monetization payouts.
  • Money out — promoting posts, ad campaigns, transfers to other members, buying verification where that is offered, and cashouts.
What does it cost to boost a post?

Boosts and ad campaigns are charged from your wallet balance at the current ad pricing.

You see the cost before you confirm, and the campaign will not start if the balance is not there.

Privacy, blocking and muting

What privacy settings can I control?

Settings → Account privacy settings holds the ones that matter most: who can follow you, who can send you a direct message, who can reply to your stories, who can add you to communities, who can @mention you, and whether other people see the green dot when you are online.

Settings → Personal info controls which details stay private, and Settings → Blocked people lists everyone you have blocked.

Block, or mute?
  • Block is a wall. A blocked account cannot find your profile, message you, react to you or leave a review.
  • Mute is quiet. They carry on as normal and you simply stop seeing them.

Neither sends a notification.

What does hudr.net record about my sign-ins?

While you are signed in we log your IP address, browser and device, and the country, region and city that IP resolves to — at most once every five minutes, not only at login. In plain terms: it is a continuous log of where the account is being used from, not a one-off login record.

It is kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Changes to your email or phone number are kept for 365 days.

The Privacy Policy lists everything, including which third parties receive data.

Does anything I do here reach another company?

A few things do, and they are worth knowing about:

  • Google Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google, so Google sees the IP address of every visitor. That includes anyone viewing a page with an embedded post on it.
  • Giphy — a GIF is played from Giphy's own servers, so Giphy sees the IP address of anyone who views it, including inside a private direct message. Your GIF search words go from our server to Giphy, not from your browser.
  • The reviews embed widget — deliberately the exception. It loads no fonts, scripts or images from anywhere else at all.

The full list is in the Privacy Policy.

Can I download my data?

There is no self-serve export yet. Ask through the contact page and the team will handle it.

Reporting and moderation

How do I report something?

Use the menu on a post, reel, profile, story, community, group chat or review and choose Report, then pick a reason.

It goes into the moderation queue for the hudr.net team.

A single comment and a single direct message have no report button of their own. Report the post the comment sits under, or the account behind it. The author of a post can also delete any comment on it, and turn comments off for that post.

Does the person find out I reported them?

No. Reports are not shown to the person being reported, and no notification goes out.

If you also want them gone from your side, block them — that is a separate action.

What happens after a report?

A moderator reviews it and can remove content, suspend an account or dismiss the report.

Most reports do not change anything on their own — one report does not hide a post. The single exception is a review reported by the person it is about, which is hidden for up to 72 hours while the team looks at it.

My account was suspended. What now?

You will see the reason when you sign in, and an appeal option where one applies.

If you think it is a mistake, reply through that or through the contact page.

I found a bug.

Tell us through the contact page — what happened, what you did just before, and a screenshot if you have one.

It genuinely helps.

Deleting your account

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account actions → Delete account, then confirm with your password.

You can add a message about why you are leaving; that is optional.

What happens when I delete my account?

Deleting your account signs you out on every device, revokes your app sign-ins, and stops your profile, posts, comments and followers being visible to anyone on hudr.net — including logged-out visitors and search engines. You cannot undo it yourself.

It is not an instant wipe of our database, and we are not going to pretend otherwise: the account is held in a closed state that nobody using hudr.net can see. Payment and payout records, moderation records and the optional leaving message are kept. Messages you already sent stay in the other person’s conversation, the same way a sent email stays in the recipient’s inbox. The Privacy Policy lists all of it.

What if I just want a break?

There is no separate "pause" switch. You can simply stop using hudr.net and sign back in whenever you like — deleting the account is the other option, and that signs you out on every device and takes your profile and content off the site for good, without erasing it from our database.

What about the feedback I left on the way out?

If you filled in the message box, we keep it together with your username, name, email, phone, sign-up date and follower counts, so we can act on what you told us.

Still need help?

Anything not answered here goes to the contact page, or straight to our inbox. We usually reply within a couple of business days.
